Credit cards have gained so much popularity amongst the masses that no business can be termed as complete and efficient if it doesn’t use credit card services. Really, without credit card services, most of the businesses would end up losing a significant chunk of business opportunities. Some people go to the extent of classifying such businesses (which don’t use credit card services) as non-serious businesses.

So what are these credit card services that we are talking about?

In simple words, by credit card services we mean the ability to accept credit cards as a mode of payment. Well, we can also term the use of credit cards as a credit card service. However, generally, credit card services will include the services that enable acceptance of credit card by a merchant. So, for a shopkeeper, use of credit card processing machines to accept credit card payments, is a credit card service that he is providing to his customers (and he himself is receiving this credit card service from the provider of credit card processing machine and others involved in making this process so smooth). Since carrying cash is no more a common practice, any shop that doesn’t use/provide such credit card services would end up losing a lot of customers because customers can’t pay with anything other than a credit card. So, for most merchants, providing credit card services (or credit card processing services) to their customers, has become very essential part of business.

With the internet boom, came a lot of online businesses. These businesses were in the form of virtual shops (or e-shops) that existed either only on the internet or were a virtual extension of physical shops. All these businesses (some selling goods, some selling services), needed a way to accept payments from their customers. This gave birth to online credit card services. The simplest use of these online credit card services is in the form of a simple webpage/web-form that asks you to provide your credit card details. These details are then verified and processed to debit the amount from your credit card and credit it to the merchant’s accounts. Since credit card details are sensitive information, these websites started implementing mechanisms/technology to secure it and prevent it from getting in the hands of fraudsters. Such sites are now called secured websites and form the backbone of e-commerce.

Besides these basic ways of implementing credit card services, the credit card services are provided in some other forms too e.g. over-the-phone payments using credit cards, use of third party online credit card service providers who provide you with an interface to accept credit card payments.

So, there are a lot of different ways in which credit card services are implemented and as the time goes by, the expanse of these credit card services is sure to increase.

Help answer the question about credit card services

Which credit cards are NOT serviced by FIA Card Services?
FIA Card Services was formerly known as MBNA until purchased by Bank of America in 2006. Despite being owned by Bank of America, FIA services cards for Regions, Chase, etc…. I want to go with a card that 100% has nothing to to with the crooks known as FIA.

Lowest APR should be the overriding factor. After that, lowest or no annual fee. Only after you've got good terms lined up do you worry about the credit limit. And don't let the balance grow too high while you're using it!

I'm surprised you got as far as you did. If I were her I'd hang up on you, too, and I know all about the biz and could see how this happened. Unfortunately your story sounds like a scam and I'm surprised you had any success at all in getting those customers to make repayment.

Considering what happened your best bet is simply to call it a loss. The time and effort you'd put into it won't be worth what you collect from her. And considering how lucky it seems you have gotten with the others I wouldn't be too upset that she got away.

I know this isn't what you were looking for but it's a realistic take on the situation.

I'll try to answer. It is hard to get all of your questions in this long paragraph but I'll see what I can do.

1-I would not go with the capital one card at all. They charge you to raise your limit.. they are full of charges and you will never have a good line through them. Ever. They are as bad as First Premiere. I would truly stay away from them at all costs.

2-A secured card does not hurt your score or slow the rise of your score. I would, however, not go with one that charges a fee. You want to find a card that will convert to unsecured and continue to raise your limit so you can build age with it and not have to just close it later. With the Capital One above, you would have to close it when your score is good because you'll never get a really good limit and you'll be stuck with so many fees. With your Wells Fargo, I would consider paying the $35 fee IF and only IF after they convert it to an unsecured card, the fees stop. Otherwise, I'd continue to look for a card that doesn't charge the fees.. they are out there. Everywhere.

3-The CD bit and having the installment loan is excellent and I would try to do this in addition to a secured credit card. If you can get this (installment loan) and 2 credit cards, you will find yourself in VERY nice shape in 1.5-2 yrs. whoever said 5-7 years is not correct. You can EASILY see your score up 100 pts in that time frame. As long as you do the things you say you already know.

4-Here is what I'd suggest. Your EQ score at 648 is actually the average score in the US. It is good enough to get an unsecured card. Go to whogavemecredit.com and put in your state and for it to pick EQ. It will give you results on who else has been in your state, applied for xyz credit and they pulled EQ. That will give you an idea if you may get approved without someone pulling your credit. Sams Club (that you can also use at Walmart) is a good one that will probably approve you.

5-Finally, I'd dispute the negatives on your report. They are old and will probably easily come off with a dispute. That will really help boost your scores. Also, expect your score to dip with the new credit but it will all recover and bounce up after 6 months.

yeah if you dont find a way to pay them you will get suspended this s**t isnt free dude.

First of all you were late but not reportable late since it was only 3-days late no big deal.

Second if you make the transfer there may be a small fee from the new card company but a lot of times there is none read the terms and conditions and they will explain.

Third as far as your credit is concerned it will actually help because your total debt to credit ratio should go down and this makes up a full 30% of your score.

Fourth a $1,077.00 balance interest free for 12-months is no big deal pay it off as quickly as you can and watch your credit score rise.

Fifth pay no attention to people that say creditors worry about the amount of available credit people have they simply don't know what they are talking about. Like I said in number 3 the only thing that matters is your debt to credit ratio and it should go down which will help your score not hurt it.

I have never heard of this before, my Wife and I have transfered balances several times back and forth to take advantage of different offers even before we were married.

The first thing to realize is that ALL credit card companies are horrible. That's how it is these days. Just read the fine print that comes with the card and you'll know what I mean. They will do everything they can to squeeze every penny out of you, outrageous fees, deceptive advertising.. you name it.

So what can you do ?
1. Find a card that gives you money back, and not just on some types of purchases like gas and food. You want a credit card that gives you cash back at a certain percentage no matter what what you buy with it.
2. Try and pay off your balance in full every month. In other words, curb your spending to what you can afford every month. If you already have a balance, try a disciplined approach where you try and gradually bring the balance to zero.
3. Pay the bill within a few days after you get it. They will slap you with a fee even if you are one day late, plus huge interest charges on the ENTIRE balance, not just the balance you did not pay.
4. I have a credit card issued by MBNA, which is tied up with Fidelity investments. If you want to save for a child's college education this is good, since it gives you money back which directly goes into a college savings account. If you are a recent graduate, there are different credit cards issued by Citibank and others, and I think there is at least one which gives some cash back. Do a Google search with keywords something like 'credit card cash back'.

In summary, self-discipline is the key. Show them you are not just another dumbed-down consumer waiting to have his/her pocket picked by these high-tech highwaymen.

Good luck.

P.S. By the way, you can usually talk them out of the late-fee charges if you are usually on time. Just be polite and firm.

Probably because it's an international card. Most sites check the address you enter against the billing address on the credit card, if they don't match, then the transaction is declined. International card issuers cannot perform this address validation.
